Captain America: Brave New World – 3 Reasons It Will Succeed & 3 Reasons It Might Fail

Loading

The first teaser of ‘Captain America: Brave New World’ just smashed itself into the Internet. While the fans are excited for this movie, some are concerned. Turns out, both could be right. Here’s the three reasons why it will succeed and three reasons it might fail.

Reason It Will Succeed #1: Red Hulk

Red Hulk in the teaser

Being a Hulk fan is hard. Sorry Bruce Banner and Jennifer Walters, but are not looking for a nerdy scientist and quirky lawyer that just happens to be green. A ‘Hulk’ should be a wrathful and uncontrollable monster!

Nah, these ain’t Hulk anymore

With Red Hulk, we might have another chance to see this. They even recasted Thunderbolt Ross with a prolific actor, Harrison Ford.

Amazing how a mustache could change one’s appearance

And Red Hulk isn’t just Hulk that is red. He’s very angry, yes. But what makes it different is that the angrier he gets, the hotter is. Literally. He has exothermic ability that will generate heat waves, strong enough to melt metal!

A Hulk hot enough to melt metal? Now that’s a Hulk

Reason It Will Succeed #2: Tiamut Island

Tiamut in ‘Eternals’ (2021)

In 2021, the ‘Eternals’ movie ended with a primordial space god piercing from the face of this Earth. And this was not spoken again for years. Not a single character was bothered with this news.

Well, not anymore. We can finally see how the world governments react to it. Some fans theorized that Tiamut was turned into adamantium by Sersi. Some even theorized it generates gamma rays that could turn soldiers into a ‘Hulk’. Either way it is exciting to watch what Tiamut the Celestial could be.

Reason It Will Succeed #3: Giancarlo Esposito

That’s cold.

Breaking Bad, Star Wars, The Boys… and now he’s officially entering the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Giancarlo Esposito is everywhere these days. And for good reasons too. He is so good at playing calm, calculated, and charismatic villains. In fact, most fans were dying to see him playing Norman Osborn or Professor X in the MCU.

A green hand? Could he be working with…

…The Leader???

Reason It Might Fail #1: Failed Screentest

Now there have been many rumors out there about a screentest. Basically, when Marvel played this movie, most people hated it.

This might be a rumor, but considering how Marvel delayed this movie for a full year for extensive reshoots just might confirm this. And that leads us to the next topic…

Reason It Might Fail #2: Constant Reshoots

Giancarlo in the reshoots

Constant reshoots are not a good thing. When a writer works on a movie and then they were replaced midway, it will create an incoherent story.

Remember Giancarlo? His character was actually added at the last minute.

In Ant-Man & The Wasp: Quantummania, some leaks reported that it underwent reshoots less than a month before its release. The results, it looks incoherent, rushed, and people don’t like it.

Reason It Might Fail #3: The Zionist

Sabra the Zionist villain ‘superhero’

Now this is the biggest red flag of all. There is a character in the movie named Ruth Bat-Seraph aka Sabra. And she’s an Israeli. In the comics, she was a really really dedicated Zionist. It would be very insensitive of Marvel to release this movie in the middle of this conflict.

With the majority of the world siding with the Palestinians because of what Israel did to them, there is a huge possibility of this movie getting boycotted. Pro-Palestinians’ boycott movement is not something to be taken lightly. Powerful global companies like McDonalds and Starbucks have shown drastic loss in this campaign. And most of Marvel’s recent projects are already flopping even without the boycott movement.

A leak reported that Sabra has been rewritten as a former Black Widow, not an Israeli superhero

Regardless, Disney might rewrite and reshoot this movie to wipe out the role of Sabra. To avoid controversies, some even reported that Sabra has been rewritten as a former Black Widow, not an Israeli superhero. But let’s make one thing clear: they only do this as a business strategy, not because they support the humanitarian crisis. For Mulan (2020), Disney even shot the movie near concentration camps of Uyghur Muslims.

I honestly feel bad for Anthony Mackie. He seems like a nice guy who really enjoys playing the new Captain America.

Conclusion

As we await the release of Captain America: Brave New World, it’s clear that this film has the potential to be both a triumph and a disappointment. With exciting elements like Red Hulk, Tiamut Island, and the talented Giancarlo Esposito, there’s plenty to be hopeful about. However, concerns over failed screen tests, constant reshoots, and the controversial portrayal of the character Ruth Bat-Seraph could also impact its success. Whether this new chapter in the Marvel Cinematic Universe will soar to new heights or fall short of expectations remains to be seen. Let’s keep our fingers crossed that it delivers the excitement we’re all hoping for!
