Ejen Ali Season 1 – Ali’s Beginning as a MATA Agent
Who would’ve thought that a routine trip to buy nasi lemak tempoyak udang (prawn fermented durian rice) on the way to school would pull Ali into the world of espionage? In the first season, Ali, an ordinary student, accidentally activates IRIS — an advanced surveillance device from the secret agency MATA that grants its user computer-like perception.
He is thrust into a new reality, having to adapt as a young agent with an unexpected support team—his own uncle, Agent Bakar, and his classmate, Agent Alicia. Ali faces threats from Uno, a villain with a long-standing grudge who aims to bring down MATA. This opens Ali’s eyes to the complex underworld of Cyberaya and the hidden agendas of those determined to control the city for their own gain.
Despite his youth, Ali proves his courage and skills while learning the meaning of responsibility and sacrifice as an agent.
Season 2 – Learning the Meaning of Friendship at MATA Academy
In the second season, Ali joins MATA Academy, a training ground for young agents. There, he meets more young agents, each with their own unique abilities and talents, as they undergo intense training to hone their espionage skills. However, the stark difference in performance between the still-inexperienced Ali and the other young agents challenges his self-confidence.
Along the way, their relationships are tested, teaching them the value of teamwork and trust in the face of intense challenges. The stakes rise when Uno re-emerges alongside the villainous group Numeros to launch an assault on MATA and seize IRIS from Ali.
Ejen Ali The Movie (2019) – A Personal Conflict That Tests Ali’s Loyalty
Ejen Ali: The Movie sees Ali facing a personal conflict when the IRIS device, once only operable by him, is upgraded to IRIS Neo — now usable by other agents. Feeling his role threatened, Ali begins to doubt his place in MATA. At the same time, a mysterious figure named Niki appears with intel closely tied to Ali’s past.
Niki introduces Ali to the fringes of Cyberaya, where marginalized communities cry out for a protector — and Ali feels compelled to fight alongside Niki. In the pursuit of truth, Ali must choose between loyalty to MATA and risking everything for answers that mean much more to him.

Season 3 – Ali Fights for His Mother’s Legacy in the MATA Arena
In Season 3 of Ejen Ali, he strives to regain MATA’s trust after being stripped of his IRIS operator role. The punishment came after his actions alongside Niki disrupted the peace in Cyberaya. He’s given a second chance through the MATA Arena tournament alongside his fellow young agents.
The competition intensifies as four international agents also join the fray. Unbeknownst to them, the tournament is secretly designed to appoint the next IRIS operator. When Ali discovers that his mother, Aliya, was a past MATA Arena champion and the creator of IRIS, he becomes determined to prove his worth in the tournament. Meanwhile, tensions escalate as Rizwan reappears, teaming up with former Numeros members to stop Cinco from continuing Uno’s dangerous legacy and unveiling the true mysterious leader of the Numeros; Cero.
