Hold onto your binge-watching snacks, folks, because we’re diving headfirst into the wild and wonderful world of Kim Eun Hee – the maestro of K-drama chaos, the puppeteer of plot twists, and the reason your weekends are spent glued to your screen instead of adulting responsibly.
Who is Kim Eun Hee?
Meet Kim Eun Hee, the creative genius who can turn a simple stroll through a park into a heart-pounding adventure and a casual dinner conversation into a plotline more complex than your last relationship. If you’ve ever found yourself whispering “just one more episode” at 3 AM, chances are you’ve fallen under the spell of her storytelling magic.

From the zombie apocalypse drama “Kingdom,” where even the undead can’t resist a good political conspiracy, to the mind-bending time-travel masterpiece “Signal,” where even the space-time continuum needs a moment to catch up, and other examples of her stellar works like “Jirisan”, “Ghost”, and the legendary “Sign” – Kim Eun Hee’s shows are like a rollercoaster ride, but with fewer safety regulations.
I wrote a review about Jirisan previously, you can check it here. But this time, I want to talk of Revenant, another masterpiece from the maestro.
What is Revenant about?

To be translated directly, revenant means someone who returns from death or somewhere far after missing for a long time. Hence, you can expect which direction this series is going, right? Yes, horror genre.
To give you an idea of what the plot is about – Gu San-yeong (Kim Tae-ri) is the daughter of a Korean folklore professor. Her father always could see demons since he was little. His interest grew bigger and bigger until it consumed him (literally). Gu San-yeong, not knowing about her father’s ability due to her parent’s separation, was suddenly gifted with a mystery item after learning about her father’s peculiar death. Since then, weird things have kept happening to her starting with everyone she despises dying one by one.

Of course, you would feel guilty if somebody died because you hate them (although it’s actually a blessing) – no, it’s immoral, don’t ever think about it being okay (fighting my moral stance). Anyway, with her conscience, she seeks help in learning the truth about what her father had done, how far it links to the present, and how to stop it. However, will it be that easy with her losing control of her soul bit by bit?

Is it worth your time?
It’s SO worth it!
To sum up, the plot is NEVER boring. What do you expect? It’s Kim Eun Hee’s work after all. From the casting, the video colouring, the ghost, the folklore, the soundtracks, the settings, the buildings, the transitions, the props, the SCRIPT! – oh my god, I could list them forever.
I tend to give ratings based on various angles, not only the plot. So, I am VERY stingy with pointers. I dare to say I gave a 10/10 rating only thrice among everything I’ve watched across various genres and languages in all my life – and Revenant is one of them.

If you would like to see other ratings I gave on Korean dramas/movies, you can check them here. Until then, TTO BOJA!
