World to integrate its privacy-first World ID to protect against bots and deepfake impersonation in the age of AI with Visa, Match Group, and Razer

KUALA LUMPUR, 22 MAY 2025 – World, the human-first network, has unveiled major updates and partnerships at its “At Last” event held in San Francisco last week. The announcements mark a significant step forward in the World’s mission to establish a global standard for proving humanness online, particularly as deepfake scams, identity theft, and AI-generated impersonations continue to threaten individuals and platforms worldwide.

The event introduced new collaborations with Visa, Match Group, and Razer—three industry-leading companies that will integrate World ID into financial services, dating apps, and gaming ecosystems. The World Visa Card will be linked directly to the World App, enabling users to spend WLD and other digital assets wherever Visa is accepted. Match Group, the parent company of Tinder, will begin rolling out World ID to protect dating app users from fake accounts, starting with Tinder in Japan. This feature will allow individuals to confirm they are interacting with real people, not bots or AI-generated profiles, without compromising their privacy—ensuring genuine human connections in the age of AI.

Meanwhile, Razer, a pioneer in gaming hardware and culture, will incorporate World ID into its ecosystem and introduce human-only gaming experiences. These include exclusive eSports tournaments and in-store Orb verification points. Additional collaborations with Circle (for USDC transactions), Kalshi, and Morpho (for mini-app integrations) were also announced, alongside the debut of a compact Orb Mini and the official launch of the World Network in the United States.

These developments come at a critical time, as online scams grow increasingly sophisticated in Malaysia. According to the Commercial Crime Investigation Department (CCID), there were 770 love scam cases in 2024, with financial losses rising to RM45.9 million, up from RM43.9 million the previous year. Authorities have also warned the public about deepfake scams featuring notable figures falsely claiming government endorsement and promising high returns. Such incidents underscore the urgent need for tools like World ID to help individuals stay safe and verified in an evolving digital landscape.

“We needed a way to authenticate humans in the age of artificial general intelligence. We wanted to ensure humans remained special and central in a world where the internet would be flooded with AI-driven content. We needed a method to distinguish between content created by humans and that generated by AI,” said Sam Altman, Chairman and co-founder of Tools for Humanity, during the “At Last” event in San Francisco.

World ID offers Malaysians a secure and private way to prove their humanness online without sharing personal details. Built with zero-knowledge proofs and encryption by design, it allows individuals to verify their identity once—via passport or Orb—and carry that proof across the internet without revealing their name, number, or email. This makes World ID particularly valuable for Malaysians seeking trusted interactions on social apps, digital wallets, and community platforms, where the risk of AI impersonation is rising.

To date, over 26 million users have joined the World Network globally, with 12 million Orb-verified[3] and 5.4 million people using World Mini Apps daily[4]. Malaysians can join the network by downloading the World App on iOS or Android and verifying their identity through an Orb or passport. The app provides access to a growing ecosystem of mini-apps and services built on the World Network, where every interaction begins with proof of personhood.
